Senior left-handed pitcher Kasey Hamilton has earned the 2023-24 Marlene Mawson Exemplary Woman Student-Athlete Award, it was announced Wednesday on National Girls and Women in Sports Day. The award recognizes Hamilton for her standout performance on the diamond, and as a leader during her collegiate career.
Kansas Women’s Basketball standout Holly Kersgieter has been named the recipient of the 2022-23 Marlene Mawson Exemplary Woman Student-Athlete Award. The award recognizes Kersgieter for her exemplary performance on the court, in the classroom and in the community.
Kansas volleyball’s return to the NCAA Tournament has extended into a second week. By virtue of their 3-1 victory over No. 20 Creighton last Friday in Omaha, Nebraska, the Jayhawks have advanced to the Sweet 16 for the third time in program history and for the first time since the 2015 campaign.
Kansas Volleyball (18-11) will take on No. 3 Pittsburgh (28-3) on Thursday, Dec. 9, in the Sweet Sixteen of the 2021 NCAA Women’s Volleyball Tournament. The match will begin at 1 p.m ET/12 p.m. CT in Pittsburgh and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
