Photo by GUHoyas The Georgetown Hoyas women’s basketball team (1-5, 1-5 Big East) fell to the shorthanded No. 3 Connecticut Huskies (10-0, 8-0 Big East) on Saturday afternoon at the Harry A. Freshman guard Kelsey Ransom led the Hoyas with 13 points and 4 assists, and freshman guard Yasmin Ott added 10 points of her own.

DePaul Overpowers Georgetown, Hoyas Fall 78-54 - The Georgetown Voice

Photo by John Picker/The Georgetown Voice The Georgetown women’s basketball team (1-3, 1-3 Big East) fell to No. 19 DePaul (8-3, 5-1 Big East) Saturday afternoon at McDonough Arena by a score of 78-54. DePaul jumped on the Hoyas early, building a 27-10 lead by the end of the first quarter that allowed the Blue Demons to stay in control the rest of the game. Though Georgetown adjusted to play close for the final three quarters, they were never able to get enough going on offense against a stifling DePaul defense. Meanwhile, the Blue Demons fast-paced attack, powered by strong outside shooting, proved a decisive advantage. First year guard Kelsey Ransom paced the Hoyas with 13 points and 7 rebounds, while DePaul junior guard Sonya Morris had 26 points on an efficient 9-13 from the field to spearhead a winning effort.
