as well as some Marvel movies. Also, episode nine ofWandaVision
has a mid-credits scene and a post-credits scene. If you finished the episode but forgot to stick around for those, go back and watch!
In many ways,
WandaVision functioned like no other Marvel project before it, and exactly like one in others. The show undoubtedly gained traction week by week with the help of fans sharing theories and Easter eggs, or delighting over clever MCU tie-ins and casting choices. Look, Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) mastered the magic trick from
Ant-Man! How will this tie in with
Dr. Strange 2, which we know will include the Scarlet Witch? You get the idea.
“Long lost bro get to squeeze his stinkin’ sister to death or what?”
After waiting long enough for the audience’s welcoming cheers to subside, a white-haired man wearing a Hawaiian shirt beneath a black leather jacket asks Wanda Maximoff this question. Just after nearly brawling in their living room, Wanda and Vision are stunned in silence.
“Pietro?” Wanda finally replies.
This scene closed out last week’s loaded fifth episode of
WandaVision, burying some of the biggest moments of the season beneath a splashier headline: Pietro Maximoff has risen from the dead.
And yet, that Wanda’s twin brother is alive after being killed in 2015’s
So far, WandaVision has been one wild ride. At the tail end of Episode 5, we’re hit with a shocking surprise cameo from Wanda’s brother Pietro AKA Quicksilver. What makes this appearance so uncanny is that Pietro isn t portrayed by his MCU actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson, but his
X-Men counterpart Evan Peters. But why?
As Darcy (Kat Dennings) puts it, it s a “recast” in the squeaky clean suburbia of Wanda s imaginings. Speaking with Marvel.com, showrunner Jac Schaeffer explained the thought process behind bringing Quicksilver who previously perished in
Avengers:
Age of Ultron to the Disney+ show. “We were like, how in the world are we going to make this make logical sense?” Schaeffer said. “Because that s the thing, you can hatch a million great ideas, but to make them land, to make them be grounded, to make them feel organic to the larger story.”
WandaVision : Funko Leak Gives First Look at Wiccan and Speed

WandaVision Episode 3 gave a nice Easter egg to Marvel fans after Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) gave birth to twins. Comic book fans will know these characters grow up to be Billy, aka Wiccan, and Tommy, aka Speed. However, there was no sign whether the Disney+ show was going to follow comics canon and see these characters become their superhero alter-egos.
Until, that is, until a tweet from a Brazilian Twitter page called Marvel News emerged, showing what purports to be an upcoming box from collectibles manufacturer Funko, which shows Billy and in a costumes reminiscent of those he wears in the comics as Wiccan.
How This Week’s ‘WandaVision’ Cameo Changed the MCU Forever
This week’s
WandaVision is titled “On a Very Special Episode.” and while it and every
Wandavision episode title is a reference to old TV lingo (last week was “We Interrupt This Program”), that was also quite accurate. Most of the episode continued the show’s parallel storylines; Wanda carrying on her phony sitcom life inside the town of Westview, Monica Rambeau and the agents of S.W.O.R.D. investigating the “anomaly” from outside the energy barrier protecting it from the rest of the world.
Then that cameo arrived. Just as Vision (Paul Bettany) made sense of the wrongness of his life with Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and their two magical children, there was a knock on their front door. Wanda opens it in and is dumbstruck to see her long-lost (technically long-dead) brother Pietro standing at her door.
