NC State was the biggest mover of the week following a nine spot improvement. The Wolfpack added three top-10 nationally ranked marks at the Camel City Invitational. Individually,
Hannah Steelman notched the seventh best time in the 3000 (9:00.70c/9:05.33) and
Kelsey Chimel ran the 10th fastest 5000 (15:50.94c/15:58.22). The Wolfpack DMR ran 11:08.74 (11:15.90) for the No. 8 time on the Descending Order List, finishing second to
Virginia Tech (No. 6, 11:04.66c/11:11.78) and ahead of third place
West Virginia (No. 10, 11:09.64c/11:16.81).
Kansas State improved their ranking by three spots to No. 22. The top Wildcat from their own KSU Steve Miller Invitational was
Taylor Latimer with the No. 16 mark in the shot put.

Before we get started we’d like to note that, as he himself mentioned, yesterday’s power rankings and Slate mark the end of Tim Everson’s all-too-brief tenure here at BotC as he moves on to take over as sports editor at the Junction City Daily Union. We’re always justifiably proud when one of our staffers leaves for a full-time job in the sports media world, and this one makes us smile even more as it marks the
second time a BotC staffer has taken over at the DU (the first being Derek Moeller-Smith, of course). Our fondest wishes to Tim, who’ll always be a part of our family here.
