The coding bootcamp announced it's enrolling students for its first part-time program, with courses set to begin in April. The 30-week part-time program will be fully remote. Since launching in 2015, Tech Elevator has trained more than 2,000 students through its 14-week, full-time developer bootcamp, which teaches students to become software developers while helping them grow career readiness skills. While Northeast Ohio went through a spike in the unemployment rate during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, just as the rest of the country did, people in the region did not return to work at as high a rate as the country as a whole.

Coding boot camps offer a quick fix to the tech talent shortage for companies scrambling to hire skilled workers. These short-term certificate programs usually take three to six months to complete and cost a fraction of the price of a bachelors degree.
