SAP this week said it will let go of 8,000 employees and Microsoft removed 1,900 positions in its gaming division. Fintech startup Brex laid off 20% of its staff and eBay slashed 1,000 jobs, or 9% of its full-time workforce.

Google's layoffs this year impacts employees within hardware and central engineering teams, as well employees who work on Google Assistant, the company's voice-activated software product.

The tech layoffs have come thick and fast as the year 2023 began with Amazon announcing 18,000 layoffs followed by Googles 12,000 firings. -- aaa
