Benchmark stock indices hit their record high levels in intra-day trade on Thursday, with Sensex breaching the historic 66,000-mark for the first time following a rally in global markets amid moderating US inflation data.

The average GHG intensity of production in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico was found to be 7 kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent per barrel of oil equivalent (kgCO2e/boe) in 2022. However, about 78% of the total production was found to be beneath that average.

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought ₹2,238 crore in Indian stocks, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) sold ₹1,197 crore. Sensex and Nifty 50 hit new highs, driven by strong IT stock performance.

BSE Midcap index touched a new high of 29,420.55 and Smallcap index record fresh high of 33,746.89.

However, experts are of the view that as long as the stock holds above the neckline of the rounding bottom breakout placed at around Rs 197 level, bulls should be able to take control.

Indian market to be influenced by Q1 earnings of major IT firms like TCS and HCL Tech. Market tone expected to be positive, but volatility possible. In previous session, markets ended positively. Sensex up 0.42%, Nifty 50 up 0.43%.

Suzlon Energy shares hit a 52-week high of Rs 18.54 today, a level which the stock touched on July 4 this year, according to the BSE website.

Tata Motors share price today: Tata Motors stock ended flat at Rs 618.45 on Monday. Earlier in the day, the stock hit a record high of Rs 634.60 on BSE.

BSE Sensex gained 273.67 points, or 0.42 per cent, to end at 65,617.84, while NSE's Nifty50 gained 92.30 points, or 0.48 per cent, to close at 19,448.20 for the day.
