8 Filipino scientists named as among Asian Scientist Magazine s most outstanding researchers in Asia

Published April 29, 2021, 10:22 AM Eight Filipino scientists have made it to Asian Scientist Magazine’s list of most outstanding researchers in Asia. According to Singapore-based magazine, “the Asian Scientist 100 list celebrates the success of the region’s best and brightest, highlighting their achievements across a range of scientific disciplines.” To be acknowledged on the Asian Scientist 100 list, the honouree must have received a national or international prize in the preceding year for his or her research, it said. “Alternatively, he or she must have made a significant scientific discovery or provided leadership in academia or industry,” the magazine said. DOST official named as among 2021 Asian Scientist 100

Published April 28, 2021, 2:52 PM An official of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has been named as among this year’s Asian Scientist 100 by the award-winning science and technology magazine based in Singapore for designing the mosquito ovicidal/larvicidal trap system aimed at reducing the incidence of dengue fever in the country. Asian Scientist Magazine has included Dr. Annabelle V. DOST-ITDI signs technical aid pact with calamansi processors

(MANILA BULLETIN FILE PHOTO) DOST Secretary Fortunato “Boy” T. de la Peña said the DOST-Industrial Technology Development Institute has inked a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with Maryland Manufacturing from Valenzuela City and Campfarms Inc. from Pampanga “early this year.” “The DOST-ITDI assistance includes the transfer of process technology for the production of the following calamansi products: Ready-to-Drink (RTD) juice, sweetened calamansi juice, and calamansi juice concentrate,” the DOST chief said during his weekly report on Friday, March 12. He noted that the ITDI “will also extend technical assistance on putting up the processing facility that includes equipment selection and plant design.”
