On october 17th, 1989. For those of us who were around at that time, remember there was a moment when we didnt know what to do. The bridges were closed. It seems like we were really stuck. What happened is gods spirit within us took over and what happened is communities came together. The communities came together to not only address the immediate issues, but the more farreaching issues. Example, the San Francisco Interfaith Council was founded as a consequence. Can you imagine that week all of our faith decided we should Work Together as a community of San Francisco and Work Together. Thank you, god. You had to ring the bell a little loud, but we got it. Thank you for the First Responders, many of whom risked their lives. Thank you also for the individuals who are not First Responders, but who stepped out. They let god work in them. They have been blessed since this time since that time with the divine intervention of our god. Our god has given us Civic Leaders who make sure that our
We work a lot with homeless, visitors, a lot of people in the area. What i like doing is posting up at hotspots to let people see visibility. They ask you questions, ask you directions, they might have a question about what services are available. Checking in, you guys. Wellness check. We walk by to see any individual, you know may be sitting on the sidewalk, we make sure they are okay, alive. You never know. Somebody might walk by and they are laying there for hours. You never know if they are alive. We let them know we are in the area and we are here to promote safety, and if they have somebody that is, you know, hanging around that they dont want to call the police on, they dont have to call the police. They can call us. We can direct them to the services they might need. We do the three one one to keep the city neighborhoods clean. There are people dumping, waste on the ground and needles on the ground. It is unsafe for children and adults to commute through the streets. When we se
Tools out there for automatically detecting sidewalk riding we would love to see. Maybe what we need to do locally is to create legislation to say if they they need to create this technology, otherwise we wont give them a permit. Commissioner stephanie. Just on rider accountability, not the company, but rider accountability for the person whos violating and riding the scooter on the sidewalk or has two people on the scooter or is putting the scooter on its side on the sidewalk or parking it obstructing the sidewalk, what is the accountability for the rider and what are we doing to enforce it through our own means, not through the operator. On the parking side, it is a violation of the transportation code to park a scooter improperly. That is something that can be enforced by the sfmta and we do Issue Citations for improperly parked scootered for a scooter program. Those citations are investigate. They will go out and issue the citations. Directly issuing a citation to someone on the si

Seeing no other couple pom on this seeing no other Public Comment on this, ill close Public Comment. Chair peskin i think that its pennywise, pound foolish. With that, mr. Fisher, maybe you can respond to a little bit of what youve heard and address the difference between the status quo and the recommendations around reform. Thanks, mr. Chairman. And really, i just wanted to address a couple comments that we heard on drnthat this po s poms i think the region has changed a bit since this project was initiated. As you start to look at a second crossing, i think the comment about how do we prioritize this in the region and then, on the delivery side, its a bit of the panel felt very strongly that we needed to have a look at this again.
