Last week, federal regulators signed off on giving the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to kids 12 and older; previously, the vaccines were only approved for those who were at least 16 years old. (The Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are only approved for those 18 years old and over.)

Department of Health. Totals do not include those administered by the Philadelphia Department of Health. The state has reported that there are 1,098,502 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in Pennsylvania and 25,622 reported deaths from the virus. Friday’s totals represent an increase of 5,650 new cases and 56 new deaths.
