Kargil,January 24 (Scoop News)- Ahead of the 73rd Republic Day celebrations in district headquarter Kargil, a full dress rehearsal was today held at Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium, Bemathang.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Tsering Motup unfurled the national flag and inspected the parade and took salute at the march past.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Headquarter, Muhammad Aslam Mir and officers of Civil Administration and Police Department were present on the occasion.
The march past was presented by the contingents of Ladakh Police, cadets of National Cadet Corps (NCC) and Police band party. The rehearsal was held by following all the measures of Covid-19 including wearing of masks and social distancing.
Meanwhile, the rehearsal regarding the republic day celebrations were also held at sub divisional and Tehsil headquarters of the district, where concerned Sub-District Magistrates and Tehsildars inspected the programs and reviewed the arrangements.

Kargil,January 13 (Scoop News)- On the directions of Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sankoo, Ghulam Mohiuddin Wani, a free mask distribution drive for public was conducted today at Sankoo in view of the surge in Covid-19 cases.
During the drive, Tehsildar Sankoo, Kaneez Fatima and Naib Tehsildar Muhammad Hussain distributed free masks to the public and appealed them to wear masks besides follow all precautionary measures of Covid-19 in order to help contain the virus spread.
During the drive, both officers visited business establishments and instructed shopkeepers and roadside vendors to follow Covid-19 SOPs while selling the essential commodities.
The officers urged them to mark circles in front of their shops so that customers maintain social distancing norms as it is one of the measures to fight the disease spread.
Furthermore, the officers also warned vendors and shopkeepers to display the rate list in front of their shops for the information of the general public.
