India Business News: NEW DELHI: Debt-saddled telecom operator Vodafone Idea Ltd's Rs 18,000 crore follow-on offering (FPO) on Friday picked up momentum with close to half .
Vodafone Idea: “In addition, the company remains actively engaged with its lenders for tying-up the debt funding, which will follow the equity fund raise. Through a combination of equity and debt, the Company plans to raise around Rs. 45,000 Crores. The Company’s bank debt currently stands at less than Rs. 4,500 Crores,” it said.
Government-owned telecom operator BSNL has a ‘Vodafone plan’ to take on bigger rivals Airtel and Reliance Jio. The company’s employee union has sent a letter to the telecom and IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw (seen by The Economic Times), asking to be allowed to use Vodafone-Idea’s 4G network.
