Clemson Finishes 13th at Visit Knoxville Collegiate

Clemson, SC Andrew Swanson shot a final round 72 to lead Clemson on Sunday at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate at Tennessee National Golf Club in Loudon, Tenn.  The Tigers finished in 13th place in the 14-team national field with a score of 868  (+28) on the par 70 course.  It was Clemson’s first appearance in the tournament and the season opener for Jordan Byrd’s team.Swanson finished in a tie for 23rd place individually with a 212 score over the 54 holes with rounds of 69-71-72.  He led the Tigers in par three scoring (3.17), par four scoring (4.11) and par five scoring (4.33) for the 54 holes.  He was fourth in the 84-player field in par five scoring average.Jonathan Nielsen was Clemson’s second best player on Sunday and overall with his third consecutive round of 73.  He finished 48th individually and tied Swanson for team honors in par three scoring at 3.17.Freshman Will Baker made his first appearance as a Tiger golfer and shot +11 for the 54 holes, a 221 score an

Clemson, SC-The Clemson golf team improved by five shots and one place in the standing during the second round of the Visit Knoxville Collegiate at Tennessee National Golf Club in Loudon, Tennessee.   The Tigers are  seventh place in the 14-team national field entering Sunday’s final round.on the par 70 course that measures 7,280 yards.Host school Tennessee has the team lead by 12 shots with a score of 22-under-par 538, while Mississippi State is second at 550, 10-under par.    Mississippi is third at 554 and East Tennessee State stands in fourth at 556.  North Florida is fifth at 565, Virginia Tech is sixth at 571 and Clemson is seventh at 573, 13 over par.  Clemson had a 289 team score on Friday and improved to 284 on Saturday,Clemson was led on Saturday by Kian Rose and true freshman Will Baker.  Both players had rounds of even par 70.   Rose had four birdies on the front nine when he shot a three under par 32.  Baker had three birdies and three bogeys in shooti

Clemson Opens Season at Tennessee Intercollegiate

CLEMSON, S.C. The Clemson men’s golf team will open its 2023-24 season at the Tennessee Intercollegiate at Tennessee National Golf Club in Knoxville, TN on Friday. The Tigers will compete in the 54-hole event against 13 other schools from around the nation.This will be Clemson’s first appearance in the Tennessee Intercollegiate.The tournament will be played Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Sept 8-10 on a course that has been ranked in the top 10 in the state of Tennessee. The field includes SEC schools Tennessee, Mississippi and Mississippi and ACC schools Clemson and Virginia Tech.
