Suspected gang member from Thibodaux arrested in connection with fatal Houma shooting, police say
A suspected gang member on the run after being charged in a deadly shooting at a Houma Sonic drive-in was arrested in Washington state, authorities said.
Travis Dwayne Mart Jr., 21, of Thibodaux, was taken into custody in Tacoma, Wash., by federal agents and was transferred Friday to Terrebonne, the parish Sheriff’s Office said.
Mart is one of several men indicted Dec. 8 in connection with a shooting July 19 at the Sonic on 5963 W. Main St. that killed 21-year-old Mcgarrete Jackson. Mart is charged with attempted second-degree murder, racketeering and criminal street gang activity, the Sheriff s Office said.
