The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff s Office says that the discovery of human remains in a wooded area this week has led to two arrests for murder. Sheriff Soignet advised that on February 24, 2021, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff s Office Detectives located human remains in the 5200 block of North Bayou Black Drive.
Soignet says that detectives have been working closely with Morgan City Police Department and Lafayette Sheriff âs Office detectives after receiving information of a murder that occurred in Gibson, LA. Through the investigation, detectives were led to the area in the 5200 block of North Bayou Black Drive. Authorities find missing Terrebonne boater

Authorities have rescued a missing Terrebonne Parish boater following a multi-agency search Monday.
Percy Dardar III, 37, of Pointe-aux-Chenes, was found Monday afternoon by a Coast Guard helicopter near Calm Lake in southern Terrebonne, authorities said. Rescuers then dropped him a radio.
Officials said Dardar became stranded in shallow waters overnight after his 24-foot white Carolina skiff experienced engine failure.
A Wildlife and Fisheries boat crew reached the stranded fisherman who reported no injuries, authorities said.
The Coast Guard in New Orleans received a report around 5:30 a.m. Monday from the Terrebonne Sheriff s Office that Dardar had departed from a boat ramp in Lake Felicity in southeastern Terrebonne around 3 p.m. Sunday to look for oysters but did not return.

Two women were killed in murder-for-hire plot gone wrong, Louisiana sheriff says
Three men from Louisiana are facing murder charges after two women including the sister of one of the men were killed in a murder-for-hire plot gone wrong, according to Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet.
At a news conference Monday, the sheriff said Beaux Cormier hired Andrew Eskine and Dalvin Wilson to kill a rape victim who was set to testify against him.
In a news release, the sheriff’s office said that Cormier, 35, of Kaplan; Eskine, 25, of Carencro; and Wilson, 22, of Rayne traveled to Montegut to do surveillance on the residence and had, on a prior occasion, attempted to carry out the killing but were unsuccessful.
