Rows of kids sit criss-cross applesauce on a stage, raising their fists and bobbing their heads as they chant âYo Hoâ to the lively beat of a catchy pirate tune.Â
This sing-along is one of 13 songs the kids will rehearse during the pre-production for Missoula Childrenâs Theatreâs upcoming play, âPirates Past Noon.â
Based on the fourth book in Mary Pope Osborneâs Magic Tree House series, âPirates Past Noonâ follows the adventures of Jack and Annie as they navigate the dangerous world of Caribbean pirates.
Except in this adaption, even the parrots wear masks. Which can pose a problem in live theater.Â

MISSOULA â The Missoula Community Theater (MCT) brought Buddy the elf to life back in 2018 with their performance of Elf the Musical.
The show was a massive success, selling out in the weekends leading up to Christmas. Some cast members say they still get recognized in town as performers in the show.
This year, MCT is taking Elf the Musical off the shelf by making it available for you to stream at home.
