Burlington, IA- Des Moines County Auditor Terri Johnson has announced her retirement, two years into her four-year term. The Hawk Eye reports that Johnson submitted her letter of retirement to the County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday. Her last day on the job is December 31st. Johnson was re-elected to the position of County Auditor after running unopposed in 2020. Due to her leaving mid-term, the board can either host a special election, or appoint a replacement until the position returns to the ballot in 2024.
