Half-cent school-renovation tax joins county’s penny tax renewal

It was the second title the district removed since taking a nonfiction novel about transgender and gender-fluid teens off its shelves two months ago.

Christiana Robbins is the new principal at Metcalfe Elementary School after starting her career in education as a first-grade teacher in 2008 at the northeast Gainesville school.

Backpacks and supplies were distributed at Faith Mission Church in time for Alachua County students to return to class Tuesday, Aug. 10.
