Tesco in Maldon to host Easter-themed events

A STORE is set to hold many Easter-themed events this spring. The Maldon branch of Tesco is planning to hold a socially-distanced Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday subject to Government guidance. The event will take place outside in Tesco Maldon car park from 10am to 1pm. Each child will receive an Easter egg and activity pack on completion of the hunt. This can also be entered into a competition for the chance of more chocolate. All money raised to be used for community projects and charities. There is also an ‘Easter’ wishing tree in the store for residents in care homes wishing for an Easter egg.

A SUPERMARKET has launched a new project to help residents keep in touch during the lockdown. The Tesco store in Maldon has started a new idea on its Wishing Washing Line whereby residents can wish for a pen pal. A list of the resident’s names supplied by Brewster House care home in Heybridge is now posted on the wall to the entrance of the store. A pen pals list on the Wishing Washing line in Tesco Maldon Community champion Rhiain Oakley came up with the idea. She said: “The care homes residents are very lovely at the moment. “They haven’t been able to see their relatives, some of them don’t even have any relatives.
