Ohio University
Students, faculty, staff, and community members can get a free COVID-19 vaccine at a walk-in clinic on campus from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 14.
No appointment is necessary. The clinic, hosted by the Athens City-County Health Department, will be held at Heritage Hall on Union Street.
Attendees can choose to receive a first or second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, or the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Those getting a first dose of Pfizer will need to get a second dose approximately 21 days later.
Those OHIO students, faculty, and staff who are fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination do not have to participate in asymptomatic testing as part of the COVID-19 Testing Pathway Program. Ohio University encourages all employees to be vaccinated if they are able, though it is not required.
In addition to new and relaxed public health protocols announced last week for OHIO campuses, fully vaccinated individuals are no longer required to participate in asymptomatic COVID-19 testing through the University’s COVID-19 Testing Pathway Program. This change is effective immediately and reflects new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for Institutions of Higher Education.
All students, faculty, and staff still are expected to select either the Testing Pathway or the Vaccination Pathway. When selecting a pathway, individuals can upload a photo of their vaccine card if they would like to be exempt from testing requirements. Those who do not select a pathway will be required to test weekly. Anyone, regardless of pathway choice, is welcome to continue testing for peace of mind.
