চাকরিহারাদের মধ্যে বীরভূমের প্রায় আটশো জন শিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকার নাম রয়েছে। রবিবার তাঁদের সকলকে নিয়ে বোলপুর শ্রীনন্দা উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়ে বৈঠক করেন জেলা সংসদ সভাপতি তথা তৃণমূল নেতা প্রলয় নায়েক।

বিচারপতি অভিজিৎ গঙ্গোপাধ্যায় জানান, অপ্রশিক্ষিত শিক্ষকদের নিয়োগে যত্রতত্র অনিয়মের ছাপ রয়েছে। ইন্টারভিউ প্রক্রিয়ায় অযোগ্য চাকরিপ্রার্থীদের নম্বর বাড়িয়ে চাকরি দেওয়া হয়েছে।

প্রাথমিকের শিক্ষক হওয়ার আবেদনকারী সবচেয়ে বেশি প্রার্থী বীরভূমের। ৩৪৬ জনের তালিকায় ১৪৮ জন চাকরিপ্রার্থীই বীরভূমের বাসিন্দা। তালিকায় এর পরেই রয়েছে মুর্শিদাবাদ।

২০১৬ সালের প্রাথমিকে নিয়োগে অনিয়মের অভিযোগে বেশ কিছু মামলা চলছে হাই কোর্টে। এর মধ্যে একটি জনস্বার্থ মামলার শুনানি ছিল হাই কোর্টের প্রধান বিচারপতির নেতৃত্বাধীন ডিভিশন বেঞ্চে।
