The Texarkana Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. recently held its 47th Outstanding Young Men (OYM) Presentation at the Holiday Inn Texarkana Arkansas Convention. Each year the Sorority recognizes the accomplishments of area high school seniors for their outstanding achievements and public service. This year, 29 young men were recognized from Ashdown, Hope, and the Texarkana surrounding school districts.
The firefighters and resources to fulfill this request for assistance were provided by Nacogdoches Fire and Rescue, Texarkana Fire Department, Lufkin Fire Department, Smith County Emergency Services District, Jackson Heights Volunteer Fire Department, and San Antonio Fire Department.

Zapata Grill located in downtown Texarkana caught on fire earlier this morning. It took place around 9 AM and luckily firefighters were there to put out the flames quickly.
