Amtrak service is back on a full schedule in Illinois for the first time since the start of the pandemic. The resumption of service means that there are once again five daily round trips between Chicago and St. Louis, including the Lincoln Service and Texas Eagle routes with stops in Springfield. State of Illinois supported Amtrak trains will resume full service soon. The Illinois Department of Transportation says the Lincoln Service, Carl Sandburg/Illinois Zephyr and Illini/Saluki trains will resume full service on Monday.
