With freezing temperatures expected throughout the day and weather forecasted at a high of 22 degrees and a low of 10, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) launched rotating blackouts, temporarily interrupting power throughout areas of Texas including the Crossroads today in order to lessen the likelihood of a total blackout for our area and most of South Texas.
Texas electric grid operators have launched rotating
blackouts across the state after power demand reached an all-time high early Monday morning. Rotating
blackouts are controlled, temporary interruptions of electric service enacted as a last resort in an effort to conserve power and meet statewide demand.
