In December 2014, about thousand appeals filed by the MoD against disability pensions were dismissed by the Supreme Court which had directed the govt to treat all disabled personnel alike.

All the four allowances would be applicable from October 1, 2023 onwards.

7th Pay Commission Latest update on DA hike: The government has announced a 4 percent DA hike from the current 42 percent to 46 percent for the central government employees.

It is being highly anticipated that the Narendra Modi government might go for a 46 percent DA hike for the central government employees.

Modi government may increase dearness allowance by 3 percent for central employees and pensioners before Navratri.

7th Pay Commission latest update: The DA hike will be effective from July 1, 2023. Presently, over one crore central government employees and pensioners are getting a 42 percent dearness allowance.

7th Pay Commission: The latest AICPI Index data for the month of June have given the much needed enthusiasm to lakhs of central government employees who have been waiting for the announcement of the Dearness Allowance (DA). 

The Dearness Allowance of central government employees is revised twice a year. The first is given from January to June, while the second comes from July to December.

During the Rajya Sabha session on July 25, 2023, MP Ram Nath Thakur raised pertinent questions about the establishment of the 8th Pay commission by the Government of India.
