11-year-old dies after head-on collision in Lancaster County: police

An 11-year-old died at the hospital hours after getting into a head-on collision Tuesday on a Lancaster County bridge, police said.
The child and 35-year-old Jennifer Johnson, of Lancaster, were driving south on the Lititz Pike Tuesday evening, authorities said. Around 8:26 p.m., Johnson crossed into opposing traffic and hit a northbound vehicle head-on as they were crossing the Thaddeus Stevens Bridge, according to Manheim Township police.
Police said the 11-year-old was taken to the hospital, where they died of their injuries hours later. They were the only passenger in Johnson’s vehicle, police said.
