Miramichiers to bring banned jail song to life for bicentennial anniversary
Within the walls of the Newcastle jail, in what is now known as Miramichi West, a group of inmates 200 years ago wrote a folk song — a song that would soon be banned. Two New Brunswickers have decided to bring it back. And not only that, they’ve made a play out of it.
