A bid to ban the import of hunting trophies to Britain has upset conservationists in southern Africa, with some saying the bill is counterproductive and smacks of colonialism.

The law on importing hunting trophies - which aims to help protect endangered animals - will be voted on by legislators in the UK parliament on Friday.

Environmental activists and government officials in Southern Africa assume that the UK draft law that bans trophy hunting of animals, could have negative impact on animal conservation.
