on friday. i talked to people over the weekend who didn t even know that it had been retracted or walked back at that point. or contradicted, may be, is the right term. contradicted by the miller team. as of the danger with this kind of thing? that the initial story makes all kinds of waves, and once it s out there, it s very hard even when you have somebody coming out and sing it s not true, to then bring it back. absolutely. this is not the first time this has happened, specifically regarding the rush investigation. media outlets have been out over their skis reporting things that are not true or partially true or just flat-out wrong. this has happened a number of times over the last couple years. the media never seems to learn its lesson, and here we have a situation where the breathlessness, the hysteria with which this report was greeted by the press on the day that it was released was just over the top. and yet, none of the other news organizations could corroborate
