After his standout performance in Netflix’s The Queenstown Kings, 19-year-old East London-born actor Likhona Mgali is on the rise, with his versatile acting skills captivating audiences.
The phrase “open up the industry” became popular as far back as 2017 when aspiring actors were calling for television producers and directors to stop recycling old faces on television shows.
East London actor Likhona Mgali, who is starring alongside Zolisa Xaluva in The Queenstown Kings, said landing the lead role was a dream come true. The pupil, born and bred in Mdantsane, plays the role of Fezile, the son of a multi-award=winning star, played by Xaluva, in the new film which is streaming on Netflix.
Aviwe Ngabom, of Despatch, became a familiar face playing Avukile in the Afrikaans telenovela Arendsvlei, and now he is moving on to new heights with a Netflix movie.
