contributing to the demand on health care, and if you ve heard in devious reports, hospitals are seeing more people, and they are full. they are unable to get more people home, they don t have the capacity or the space for the people that are actually in the hospitals, and so i would agree that the discharging of patients from hospital is a really important factor in all this, and that of course does require an efficiently functioning system, including adequately funded community and care services. it adequately funded community and care services. , , adequately funded community and care services. ,, , ., , services. if the system doesn t chance, services. if the system doesn t change. what services. if the system doesn t change, what do services. if the system doesn t change, what do you services. if the system doesn t change, what do you fear- services. if the system doesn t change, what do you fear the l change, what do you fear the consequences will be? what is it going to
dead. so the question is what are we going to do? i hear the verbiage coming from the president but what is the directive? when are we going to understand the pressure that has to be placed on kyrsten sinema and joe manchin so we can codify privacy rights? when are we actually even if we can t do that why doesn t the united states house of representatives actually put up a federal abortion ban and vote it down so that we can hang this proverbially around the neck of every republican that s going to be running in the fall. i mean, do something i think is the point that people are saying. there s been no executive action around roe, there s been no executive action around reproductive rights. so you re going to be calling on these same people to come out and support you and vote for you in august and september and october, as early voting kicks off for november, and the point is we re not giving folk anything to be excited about and we don t have that tiers urgency of now. governor,
things that might very well and should cause a block, but on the other side there are absolutely cases where there are warning signs but for a variety of reasons people might not choose to come forward to the authorities. as we re seeing right now even when those notes are made that sometimes the system doesn t record those or keep them in a database where they re searchable in the future. peter strzok, appreciate you being with us, helping us understand this this morning. thanks, john. the mayor of uvalde, texas, is worried about a police cover up in the investigation of what happened the day of the robb elementary school massacre. 19 children of course and two teachers died in that. mayor don mclaughlin spoke exclusively with cnn s shimon prokupecz about this and shimon is joining us live. what did he tell you? reporter: right. and, brianna, his issue is specifically with the texas department of public safety, which is running this investigation, his issues over how they re g
the thing that makes me so worried for our system and country going forward is the fact we cannot have extra judicial pressure in the system. the system doesn t work unless it is self contained unless you have results based upon the field of play. what these people are trying to do is influence the field of play and judges to come up with a different verdict and that is not how the system can work, the system will collapse if that is allowed to happen. carley: we had tom fitton on in the 4:00 hour and he said supreme court should release roe v. wade now if a justice is killed, the opinion could change and that is incentive. he said you can t believe that is the conversation we re having right now. when the draft opinion was leaked, you had pro-life centers bombed. the addresses of supreme court justices leaked online. some justices went into hiding.
francisco is facing a recall. his is a pragmatic not a pragmatic, a crusading reformer of the criminal justice system. when he took over in 2020, it was a high point for those pushing criminal justice reform. what s going on? well, i think that if he does in fact fall in this recall effort, that actually is going to be an indictment on white liberals in san francisco. because this is hard work. reforming the system doesn t happen in just two years. and to basically blame him for all the social ills happening in that city, i think misses the mark. if you speak with him, he ll say that actually, these cases like auto theft, they don t even get to him as a prosecutor because police by and large are not finding these folks. i think 97%, he cited, are not even being arrested. so i think there s a little more nuance there, that white liberals at large call for this
