Roberts and Day-Wilson both shot 7 of 14 from the field as the Hurricanes (12-5, 2-4 Atlantic Coast Conference) built an early double-digit lead. N.C. State (15-2, 3-2) rallied from a 14-point deficit early in the third quarter to cut it to 56-50 on Mimi Collins’ two free throws with 5:59 remaining in the fourth.

Miami’s win over the fourth-ranked Wolfpack was its biggest regular-season upset since beating No. 4 Louisville in 2021.

For the first time since Jim Valvano coached the Wolfpack, N.C. State has started 5-1 in ACC games.

The Atlantic Coast Conference has reprimanded North Carolina State guard DJ Horne for flashing both middle fingers at the foul line in a comeback win over Wake Forest on Tuesday night. The ACC's statement said it issued the reprimand after reviewing game, calling Horne's gesture “unsportsmanlike and inappropriate.” Horne made both foul shots with 2.2 seconds left in the Wolfpack's 83-76 win over the Demon Deacons.
