ATHENS – Even if companies making the COVID-19 vaccine waive the patent for making them – at a cost – a facility in Greece wouldn t be up and running until late in 2022, even if started immediately.
That was the assessment from the President of the Panhellenic Union of Pharmaceutical Industries, Theodoros Tryfon, who told SKAI TV that, “The capability to create a factory from scratch, even if one possesses the technical know-how, takes time to ensure that the Greek product would live up to all European, American, or international standards and that takes approximately 12 to 16 months,” because of some other issues.
