The American wine industry is going through a turbulent time. After decades of steady growth, the U.S. wine market was showing signs of softening even before the pandemic. The COVID-effect did boost retail sales for home consumption in 2020, but not enough to offset the loss in “on premise” sales (restaurants and bars). And then there were the West Coast wildfires.
