McDONALD In lieu of the traditional Christmas in the Village event usually held around this time, McDonald found a way to bring Santa Claus to its residents.
The decision was made at a Nov. 18 council meeting to cancel the traditional event, but at council’s recent December meeting, an announcement was made that the village would put on a Santa parade.
Unlike a traditional parade where residents come to a specific location, the residents only will have to step outside their homes to get a peek at St. Nick.
“Two weeks ago police Chief (William) Woodley wanted to do something and council liked it,” village Administrator Thomas Domitrovich said. “We’re bringing the parade to the residents.”
