A New Jersey grand jury also voted to indict six other officers in connection with the 2019 death of a 41-year-old man.

A Paterson police officer who shot a suspect in the back during a foot chase last June was charged with aggravated assault and official misconduct.

New Jersey’s attorney general said the shooting violated state policy. The young man, now unable to walk, was fleeing but did not pose a threat, officials said.

AG: A state grand jury declined to charge two Bayonne police officers who fatally shot an emotionally disturbed man armed with a knife.

Jason Parks also submitted a fake incident report on the 2019 assault and convinced another corrections officer to lie for him, says state Attorney General Matthew Platkin.

The incident took place at the Albert C. Wagner Youth Correctional Facility in Bordentown in 2019.
