Lawyers: Trump, as a former president, had ‘unfettered right of access’ to presidential documents

A lawyer for former president Donald Trump, who has worked for the DOJ and as a federal prosecutor in Maryland, has questioned why his old employer is so opposed to a special master going over the records that were seized during the Mar-a-Lago raid.

The Trump team also referred to the documents that were seized as 'purported' classified records, suggesting his lawyers do not concede the Justice Department's contention that highly sensitive, top-secret documents were found.
