STURGIS, S.D. The St. Thomas More Lady Cavaliers, the #1 ranked team in Class A, used pinpoint passing and stellar shooting to down the Sturgis Scoopers at West Gym Thursday night, 61-22.
The Lady Cavs came into the matchup unbeaten, with a 12-0 record, including a signature win on Jan. 8 against the former #1 team in Class AA, Sioux Falls Washington.
St Thomas More shot 8 of 14 from the field in the first quarter to take a commanding 18-5 lead after one. Senior Haleigh Timmer scored seven points in the quarter for the Lady Cavs, and then added five more in the second as St. Thomas More took a 34-9 into the locker room at the half.
