A New York judge struck down the states mask mandate on Monday, one week before it was due to expire, as governor Kathy Hochul (pictured) vowed to fight back.

State Supreme Court Judge Thomas Rademaker in Mineola said in his decision the state Department of Health didn’t have the legal authority to implement the mandate, and that it was up to the state Legislature to do so if needed.
