HAMPDEN Detective Scott Trombly has changed his title to police chief after being sworn in Wednesday morning.
Friends, family, members of the community as well as the greater policing community gathered on the front lawn of the Hampden Police Department to witness the ceremony.
Trombly replaces longtime Police Chief Jeff Farnsworth, who resigned Dec. 17. Following Farnsworth’s resignation, retired Longmeadow Police Chief Richard Marchese was named interim chief while the Select Board searched for a permanent replacement.
