It seemed a good idea at the time. The Spanish resort of La Manga appeared the ideal location for warm weather training when Leicester City last reached a Wembley cup final.
Their players - including Robbie Savage, Neil Lennon and new signing Stan Collymore - flew to the exclusive sports and leisure complex for a short break before the League Cup final in February 2000.

When thinking about famous people that have come from the Coventry and Warwickshire area, commonly one name springs to mind.
Town Linked With Move for Birmingham Keeper Friday, 27th Apr 2012 00:22
Birmingham keeper Colin Doyle is reported to be close to joining the Blues on a free transfer. Doyle, 26, was previously targeted by Town after Shane Supple’s retirement in 2009 during Roy Keane’s time as manager.
Irish international Doyle, who played for the Midlanders against the Blues at Portman Road earlier in the month, is out of contract at the end of the season and is likely to be looking for regular first team football having been second-choice throughout his time at St Andrew’s.
Winner of one full cap in addition to appearances at U21 and B levels, Cork-born Doyle joined Birmingham at 15 and has since spent time on loan at Chester, Nottingham Forest, Millwall and Coventry.
That doesn t make Crystal Palace s winner four minutes later any less funny though.
98. Martin Keown jumps all over Ruud van Nistelrooy
We reckon Martin Keown was pretty happy when Ruud van Nistelrooy missed his penalty. What do you reckon gang?
After Keown s initial deranged response, the Dutchman then gets bounced around by the Arsenal back four like a space hopper.
97. Luis Suarez bites Branislav Ivanovic
Luis Suarez truly is a master of shithousery.
What is so funny about this clip is the casual nature with which he sinks his teeth into Branislav Ivanovic, as if he is the starter at a Michelin star Serbian restaurant.
