Following a tumultuous two years at the top of the organization, the Greater Worcester Community Foundation has selected New York foundation executive Peter Dunn to be its new president and CEO.

Dunn is succeeding interim CEO Tim Johnstone, who stepped in after former president and CEO Jim Ayres resigned in June 2022 after six months in the position.

The Greater Worcester Community Foundation in Worcester has granted $2.2 million total to 120 local nonprofit organizations to aid in operations and fund new projects.

Some organizations and officials hope federal funds will even the playing field.

Some builders are doing better than others in the new economic environment.

Johnstone family has officially retired and sold all their McDonald’s franchises to Costa Enterprises McDonald’s as of Dec. 15.
