Written by Gregg Hammer and Louis Pardo, the work will be presented at Playwrights Horizons in a 29 hour reading.

The stage musical is based on a 2012 documentary about billionaire Jacqueline Siegel.

The annual awards presented by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets will be given in April.

The program returns to support Latiné writers with free space for closed readings and additional resources.

After nearly 100 independent productions in ten countries across four continents in six languages, “LIZZIE” the Musical, by Steven Cheslik-DeMeyer, Tim Maner, and Alan Stevens Hewitt, has been picked up by Broadway Licensing.

Written by Steven Cheslik-DeMeyer, Tim Maner, and Alan Stevens Hewitt, the cult favorite rock musical premiered in 2009.

Lizzie the Musical is currently on at the Hayes Theatre, directed by Maeve Marsden and featuring an all-female cast and crew. It retells, in song, the horrific true story of Lizzie Borden, who, in 1892, was accused of killing her father and stepmother with an axe. Adding spice to the crime, Borden was also rumoured to have been romantically involved with the family’s maid and a female neighbour.
