Police said while they tried to locate the Timberview High School shooting suspect Wednesday, officers were dealing with fake threats from other campuses.

An active shooter situation prompted a police investigation and a lockdown at Timberview High School in Mansfield ISD Wednesday morning, the district said.

An 18-year-old is under arrest after allegedly opening fire Wednesday morning at Texas High School with a gun allegedly acquired illegally. 

The family of Timothy Simpkins, 18, told reporters outside their home in Arlington that he was bullied at school for wearing nice clothes and driving a nice car.

Students said they barricaded themselves in their classrooms, turned off the lights and hid under desks as Arlington police investigated the shooting.

Two out of the four people injured after a shooting inside Timberview High School this week remain in the hospital, police said Thursday.
