Temperatures plunged Saturday, Jan. 13, and snow fell heavy Sunday night. Nashville got above freezing just once over the following week — a sunny Thursday afternoon — before plunging back to single digits over the weekend. Prolonged cold and ice tested the city’s shelter network, a broad coalition of institutions and people trying to help the growing population of people living outside.

We hope to learn from the Point In Time Count what programs are working, and what needs to be improved. We must make sure our limited resources are being used most effectively.

The high court is set to weigh in on just how far cities can go in criminalizing homelessness.

The Marshall County Commission is accepting Community Development Funds now through Feb. 23. This is a grant opportunity offered by county taxpayer funds.
