The economy is continuing to see some steady improvement from the hit it took due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and should continue to do so with rolled-back restrictions and mask mandates in most parts of the country. Unfortunately, despite the financial need of some Americans, it also means the hope for a fourth stimulus check continues to dwindle.
Though the economy has been rebounding from the pandemic, with more consumer spending and job growth, CBS News reports that millions of Americans continue to remain in financial distress, with 4 in 10 responding in a survey by TransUnion that income remains below pre-pandemic levels. Another poll by the Kaiser Family Foundation revealed that one in three also struggled to meet basic living expenses in the last three months.

Americans have been eager to learn whether or not they would receive a fourth stimulus check, but those who thought they would be eligible for one solely because of their COVID-19 vaccination status are in for a disappointment.
Rumors that a fourth payment could be coming to those who could prove they had received one of the COVID-19 vaccines began after an anti-vaccine account posted the information to Twitter on May 3, while masquerading as a breaking news account. However, the account quickly reverted back to its usual one and detailed that the claim was a joke, before once again sharing information about why they didn’t believe in the vaccine.

President Joe Biden may be looking ahead to new economic stimulus plans to continue helping pull the United States out of the crisis formed by the COVID-19 Pandemic, but that doesn’t mean Americans should be looking for a fourth stimulus check in their bank accounts anytime soon, especially after household income increases signaled that the economy is truly beginning to bounce back.
