LAFAYETTE, Ind. A group of about 60 Tippecanoe County parents, students, coaches and educators hope to persuade the Tippecanoe School Corp. to address what they see as ongoing racism and homophobia on campuses.
At Wednesday s board of trustees meeting, representatives for the group planned to address the board during the public comment section on the board s agenda. I will speak, Amanda Lucas told the Journal & Courier before the meeting. A student at Harrison (High School) will speak. A woman who is moving her family to Indianapolis, and a former coach at Klondike (Elementary School). We have about 60 people in our group. I m not sure how many yet will be able to show up tonight.
