ATLANTA Apollo Tyres Ltd. plans to increase prices in the coming months on selected Vredestein-branded products in the U.S. and Canada by up to 8%.
The increase the second so far in 2021 will take effect for off-the-road product lines on June 1 and for passenger and light-truck tire lines on July 1. The tire maker said inline adjustments also will be made on a per size basis. This increase has been driven by multiple factors, including increased costs on sea freight, transportation (and) raw materials, in addition to other market factors, Abhishek Bisht, assistant vice president, Americas, said.

SIGNAL HILL, Calif. Taiwan tire maker Federal Tire Corp. is rejoining the Formula Drift series as an approved tire supplier after a 10-year hiatus, joining four other tire brands already active in that role.
Federal Tire has lined up seven drivers competing in Formula Drift s PRO class this season: Jhonnattan Castro; Rome Charpentier; Jonathan Hurst; Kyle Mohan; Jonathan Nerren; Simen Olsen and Alec Robbins.
Other tire brands approved as suppliers to the series are Falken, GT Radial, Nexen and Nitto. Falken and GT Radial are listed as major sponsors as well. We re very pleased to welcome Federal Tire to the Formula Drift paddock, Jim Liaw, president of Formula Drift Holdings L.L.C., said.

WASHINGTON The Department of Commerce has determined that passenger and light truck tires imported from South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam should be subject to anti-dumping duties ranging up to 98.44% depending on the country of origin.
Commerce s decision, published
Dec. 30, is in response to petitions filed in early May by the United Steelworkers Union (USW), which claim tire producers from these regions are dumping their products in the U.S. at margins ranging from as low as 5.48% (Vietnam) to as high as 217.5% (Thailand).
