Saifuddin Laskar, also the husband of the local panchayat pradhan and the TMC's area president, was shot dead allegedly on Monday when he was on his way to a local mosque at Bamangachi.
Police said the deceased were identified as Neelima Barman (52), Bimal Kumar Barman (68), and Runa Barman (24). The couple's younger daughter Iti (22) was also critically injured in the attack and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital, they added.
