She was born August 9, 1937, at Martins Ferry Hospital and was the only child of Custer Nelson Carter and Edna Marchbank Carter, who preceded her in death along with her Grandson, Connor Merritt, two stepsons, Tom Michelli, Jr. and Michael Michelli and a stepdaughter, Tina Michelli Miller.
